Mystery Skull Cross - Any Ideas ????

Hi all, I'm not sure if this is really Imperial or maybe Freikorp? The back is completely flat except for a 8 stamped in the centre.

The centre has a skull surrounded by a laurel leaves, beneath the skull is a sword crossed with a flaming torch. The centre is a separate piece.

Any ideas

It's from the White Army of the Russian Civil War, 1919. But these crosses have been widely faked by a dealer in Hannover.

Thanks Robin , any idea as to what kind of ribbon it would have and why it was awarded?
