KO kuestion

I was comparing my KO EK's yesterday and came across something that didn't seem to fit.
So I turn to my Imperialite friends to perhaps shed some light.

First, an image of all three KOs side by side:

The cross in kuestion is the third one.
I lightened a bit in Photoshop to show the details a bit more.
The differences I can see are the crown; it shows the rear of the headband whereas the first do not, and the cypher; it seems to be of a different style. Evene the numbers on the thirdd cross look dissimilar.

From what I have read KO crosses came with several different core styles.

KOs were the awarded pieces so there are tons of them out there. There had to be several dies considering the number awarded.

Hi Eric,

KO have two main core types that I am aware of - you have examples of both.

The examples in the left of post#1 are the very common type. Later examples with this core type have almost no detail to the crown (probably due to die wear) - they are that bad (imo, plain ugly).

Your example on the right has the much less common core type with detail equal to the better EK manufacturers.

Imperial EKs are definitely not a case of each manufacturer having only one type! I know of one manufacturer that has 3 core types and at least one of those core types is shared by a different maker! I don't think anyone has as yet figured out the relationships between Imperial EK makers
