Greetings everyone,
I'd really appreciate opinions on this PLM from some of the experts out there. It's a silver gilt Wagner piece in an Austrian coffin style case. I believe it may be authentic, but I am no expert on these. It does not belong to me, so please feel free to be very candid with your comments.

A poor quality 'Rothe' copy from the 70's Roy.

A search on Rothe should give you the background.

Is it just me or does image number 4 appear to show "spillage" of the enamel into the pie-slice portion of the decoration? Also, image number 8 shows a fair amount of scratches along the arms of the cross that I would have thought would have been finished out of an issue piece. Detail to the eagle is not very good either. I am not an expert either, but this one seems a little rough.... Mike

Hey Roy,

I really don't know what I'm talking about with the PLM's... but there is something that bothers me about this one... The enamal seems to be 'sunken in' in a few places... I would have thought that an original piece would have had better quality work.

Good eye Mike,
There is enamel spillage where you indicated.
Note also in image #8 the tail feathers are not voided, as opposed to the image #7.

Do you think the case is a copy as well, or might it be original?
Does anyone have an opinion on value of Rothe copies?
