1914 EKII & Franco Prussian War medal

Is it possible to have received an 1914 EKII and a Franco Prussian War medal, seems unlikely in my eyes considering even a 17 year old in 1871 would be 60 in 1914. But I've seen a bar with these two awards on it which I preusme was made up. Any ideas

There were many more 1870 EK2 holders that got the 1914 spange than you probably will believe...since you would be surprised by one!
