    Medal bar... navy?

    Dear Imperial collectors,

I am posting a pic of a medal bar, which is being offered by the next Zeige's auction.

    Here is the description:

Ordensspange mit 7 Auszeichnungen, Eisernes Kreuz 1914, KVK 2. Klasse mit Schwertern, Ehrenkreuz für Frontkämpfer, Dienstauszeichnung der Wehrmacht Kreuz für 25 und Medaille für 12 Jahre, Luitpold-Medaille Bayern und Silberne Liakatmedaille Türkei

Unfortunately I don't have the picture of the backing...

    Ciao,

    Claudio

Claudio: my immediate reaction is that this officer was a Bavarian citizen in the Schutztruppen.

Why? Because I cannot imagine a Bavarian NOT getting a Bavarian award unless he was cut off and prisoner of war, not returning until after the end of the war.

We need to know two things:

    1) most important, what reverse is on the Luitpold jubilee?

    2) what color is the backing?

My next reaction is that a pre-war (no Sabers Bar) Liakat was the sort of thing commonly handed over to noncommissioned officers on visiting ships or army delegations-- and obviously more of the former than the latter. So this MAY have been a Deck Officer type, with an Imperial XXV correctly replaced per regulations on being called back into the Wehrmacht in WW2.

My instinct says this is NOT going to be traceable.
