    Garde-Fusillier-Regt. Grouping

    Hi All,
I need to know what you all think about this group. Man entered ser. 1907 , discharged 1909, recalled 1914 and discharged 1919.
Has medals, and all of the original documents, plus copies of same and history of regt. typed out in nice folder, with maps,etc..
My friend has had this for a while and just offered it to me. Pic cannot be proven to be him, just came with set. $200-225 is what I can get it for. What do you think? Worth it?
    Thanks in advance, Terry

Go for it!!!!! If he has no collar tabs, probably not him.

I just simply, absolutely the EK2 document with the Gardestern being supported by the Regimental "Maikäfer" beetles!!!!!

(I have a color sticker of one of those "May beetles" from the veterans' association, 1920s. When you get the group and can please post good scans, will add that for "weird" reference....)

Great group! Terrific bug-- will post "in living color" from the Regimental Association at bottom.

EK2 document signed by Burgard/Burghard/Burchardt (take your pick-- every time I found him, a different spelling!!!) von VELTHEIM:

Sekondeleutnant 18.8.94, Oberleutnant 27.1.04 N2n, Hauptmann 1.6.11, Major 20.5.17 and aD in that rank, alive 1926. He was the son of Royal Prussian Chamberlain (there were lots of those) and "Schlosshauptmann" (Palace Guard chief?) His Excellency Werner von Veltheim, d. 1919, and Auguste von Gadenstedt, d. 1886.

Bur. had Prussian Crown Order 4th Class, 1900-01 China Medal, 1897 Centenary Medal, Chinese Order of the Double Dragon Class III.3, Russian St Stanislaus 3rd, Turkish Gold Liakat Medal, Turkish Silver Imtiaz Medal, and Turkish Medjidie Order 4th Class before the war. He got the Bavarian MMO4X 26.1.17, and I suspect was the "Hauptmann von Veltheim" whose Hohenzollern House Order with Xs was gazetted 24.3.17 (no 1st name or unit).

The numbers all over the late Wound Badge (either he was discharged before getting one, or had a form of wound or disability not covered until the 1936 regulations changes) are just file numbers.

Chances are the Police President on the Hindenburg document is traceablke if his signature can be deciphered. Most of them held SS rank.
