Easy enough to tell if they are silk. Parade medal bars SHOULD be nice and minty fresh, they were worn so little, if they have been carefully stored and cared for.
This combination is certainly legit and was easy enough to trace--
Werner: Just so you know--please do not EVER volunteer identifications on any bar from that dealer until and unless one of our members has bought it and has it in his possession. His prices are ALREADY astronomical: just IMAGINE what they would be if he was presented with the FREE RESEARCH he should be doing himself and have as his own supposed "knowledge" from dealing with such items all the time!!! Why, his double and triple prices would skyrocket even more-- and no thanks (or remuneration) to US!!!
But WE reserchers know who the owner of that bar (and other bars) was: and we're NOT telling!

As many of you know, I rarely speak out against any dealer, but in this case the gentleman that runs "der Rittmeister" was so offensive that I will never, ever, ever deal with him (I won’t even look at his site), and if I you ask me I will tell you not to buy there.
When I first started this site, I wrote around trying to get links and throwing feelers out for sponsors to help pay for growing development. Most folks were polite, and either declined or asked more questions (obviously a couple accepted), but none were so arrogant as Ken. He wrote me back a nasty, belittling e-mail on how dare I ask that HE (the great “der Rittmeister”) sponsor something. The insults and degrading comments continued for a paragraph, things like “pathetic sites like yours should be so lucky if I mention them in MY site”, because as he saw it my project was a dead end.
Good enough, I never wrote him back, but he is the one and only “respected” person whom I will never, ever deal with. I don’t care what he has, or at what price.
The project wasn’t a dead end after all, huh? And it took a few years, but now people are reading about what a “great” guy is behind der Rittmeister.

My .0002 cents worth on Der Rittmeister. I've acquired
only two items from him. An etui, which I thought was over
priced but it was he only one I could find that fit my need,
And a Bruststern, which, to my amazement was right in
line with Nimmerguts catalog price. So, i'd say, most is overpriced
but maybe not all.
In these dealings we exchanged emails and he stated he
began as a teen when he resold a replica EK for twice what he paid for it. I also detected a bit of arrogance in his emails.
Re. his knowledge, he couldn't identify a Prussian Honor
Legion medal, and I thought any mid-level collector should
recognise that.
In his uniform and headgear sections, beware the stuff from
this Saxon Prince or "alledge to belong to...". A good reason to
really raise the price, but without docuemantation or provenance,
I wouldn't go there.
His site is there for profit and nothing else.
