Yup, looks OK. What's it made out of-- steel with a paint sort of finish?

Given the nature of naval warfare (alive and intact or very, very dead), there weren't many (I wish we knew) of the non-Army type, and my best guess is that almost every single silver and gold comes from unsold period German military effects dealers' stocks, "leftovers."

I got a silver in the early '70s from just such a box found under the stairs, including all sorts of ribbons and devices (which I was more interested in, and which little metal "spare parts" have lasted me 25 years). Paid $3.75 for mine, and could have had all three grades, by the multiples, for the same price-- but I thought it was "ugly" and let that opportunity slip. (I was still in my Third REich Phase )

Thanks Spiess for posting the pics.!This badge will be mated with a 1921 black gripped Navy, when I get it! BTW:I don't have the badge yet,so I'm not sure of base metal or finish.
