    Iron Cross Paper Weight

This is an interesting Item. It is a very large Iron Cross Paper Weight (for lack of a better term) it is pretty heavy and is roughly around 6 by 6 inches. It says german silver on it and has some markings of the back.

If some one would post pictures for me I will email them to you, Thanks

I got this out of a very nice Imperial collection I bought from the veterans great granddaughter. Sadly she came back two days later and broke down crying that she shouldn't of sold her families history, so I gave everything back to her with the exception of this. We both forgot about this item and I have no way to contact her, So I guess its mine.

Are these common or even from the time period? any help would be great.

I wouldn't say common but for sure not rare and valuable.

About all I know is I'd like to get one of those!!
Just as a guess I'd say it's some sort of commemorative thing, issued as a souvenier sort of thing?
                          Thanks,

                            Not 100% Sure But

I memory serves me I do believe that these crosses where put in the cemetary to honor the individual who was killed during the war. As I said in the title I am not 100% sure but 90% .

Hope this helps maybe a starting point

These are really neat ive never seen one before I bought this one. Kind of hard to display in a case due to the fact that it is thick and heavy, but im sure ill figure out a way
