Could one of the badges possibly be a Sturmtrupp skull badge ?

Maybe others can tell, but I cannot see any of the details of the badges on his cap, they're just white blobs!

What looks like a wreath around the hat cockade is actually the stags antlered Carpathien Korps badge for units that fought in the Carpathian Mountains. The largest of the hat badges on the band looks like a Bavarian 11th Division badge. I have one it and the shape is correct. The mans rank is Unteroffizier or Corporal and his medal bar appears to be the Bavarian MVK (probably 3rd class, but no way of knowing) EK2, and what appears to be a Bavarian Long Service medal. The troddel appears to be either 2nd or 4th Company (white stem with either red or blue trim).

This is not the badge of the 11.Bavarian Division. It was shield shaped. It looks more like the 10.Bavarian Division, whose badge was about this size and octagonal. Can you make out any details on the shoulder straps?

                shoulder board

Cannot make out any detail other than the piping which looks like a light color on the black and white picture. The piping looks as light as the lower color on the troddel. Thanks

The piping should be red as is the visor cap band. This was standard for most infantry. Chip, Of course you are right, I misspoke since I did not have mine in hand at the time and relied on memory.
