    Friedrich August Cross, 1st Class

Guys, can I have some opinions on this Friedrich August Cross, 1st Class. Its obviously had a repaint on the back, but Ive got nothing else to compare it against.

    Thanks for any help.

The flat back is generally considered post-war. The crown and date compare favorably to my flat back example, but the border on your cross is wider, similar to a II Kl. The pin/catch are obvious repacements. Definitely been around the block a time or two. Interesting that the catch is backwards, i.e. opening on the left. I wouldn't donate it to the scrap drive
Here's my flat back for comparison.

The catch is heavily repaired so may have faced right originally, the pin also looks to be a characteristic Maybauer with the fish tail top. I would say the paint on the reverse is original and that on the front has faded for some reason
