now a serious question

Why is it that the 18 & 4 are shown with the numerals facing out, yet the 25 & 12 is more conventional ??
Which one if any are not within regulations ??

This is just an educated guess. The 18 & 4 might have the numerals facing out because they are de-natsified simply, by flipping the medals? So they could be within the regs after 1945.. Just a guess.

Somebody just was playing with them. I see from the Hindenburg cross that your new bar's medals are suspended from typical clip on and off concealed hooks, so you can slide them off and put them back on the correct way, Wehrmacht eagles out. Tuck the ribbon rings up inside the ribbon so the rings don't show too, and voila-- as it was made to be. I find a toothpick to apply gentle pressure to depress these clips works to remove the awards-- when you are pushing them back onthey will snick right back into place, and use a toothpick again to gently slithjer the rings under the mounted ribbons. That style is so much easier to deal with than the ones with the rings sewn down under the ribbons!
