Two sides to this story

Thought I would show a few trinkets just to show you all that we're are not just "knee-deep" in tunics and Pickelhaubes here. This is a really interesting item, possibly a neck broach? As it is too light to be a watch fob. One side has a likeness of Bismarck, the other has an outline of Africa. Colonial aspirations?

That's strange, because Bismarck always opposed colonial "adventurism," and naval build up that put Germany at loggerheads with England!

I've seen these before. It was explained to me that they are actually of British origin. Produced to poke fun at the Heinies and also to produce a bit of confusion as well, it seems.
