    Hand-Written Award Documents?

    Hi all,

Was it at all common for award docs to be hand-written in ink? I have seen a few examples of this, but I wonder if I am correctly identifying them..... (one example was for an MVO)

    Hi again,

I included a link to a picture. Does this help?

      Hi Darren,

this is more likely a hand written copy of the award document.

      Best regards

Thanks Daniel for your thoughts. The document does look a little informal.....

Here is a very rare hand done one for a Grenadier in Sturmbattalion 8. It is the only document to a Sturmbattalion I have ever seen. It was in poor condition as you can see and I had it framed to preserve it. I have a small grouping of his EK 2, Honor Cross with Swords and a very faded picture from 1919. These men did not have a long life expectancy and were required to be unmarried. It is gratifying to know he made it.
