    opinions on ehrenkreuz für frontkampfer

    hello to all

my first post on the imperial section...the reason? Well, I got this 'ehrenkreuz für frontkämpfer' in today for free. I need your help on this one. The fact that I know zero about awards or medals ( ww1 and 2), makes it difficult to determinate if this is a real one or a fake award. I know that these are one of the cheapest and easiest to obtain awards, but today you aren't sure of anything anymore!! So please give my your opinion. It's in mint condition, and the back shows a marking: '0.2' .The ribbon feels soft and doesn't glow. Thanks in advance for the help....

    Kind Regards

Yup, looks fine! Amazingly enough, there ARE fakes of this cross but they are so crappy they are really funny!

Some time back, somebody posted a fakes dealer (who sells them as fakes) site-- phony tinnies (oy!) etc-- and there was a hideous sand-cast gold colored Hindenburg Cross fake-- for only 4 times the price of a dirt-common real one!

      Hello Rick

thanks for the fast reply... another small question, the marking on the back ( picture below) : ' 02' , does this represent the maker? or does it have another reason?

      thanks again

      Kind regards

Come on, fakes of this medal?
I need proof of that or I don't believe it. these medals are so cheap, it isn't worth the trouble to fake them...

          Hello Jan,

Yes, the 'O.2' is the maker's mark.
