    Imperial Blades?

I am trying to come up with some new displays for my Eks and started thinking about blades.

Were there any distinctive blades associated with Imp. german troops?
"other than the Lion head and dove head swords and k98 bayonets"
The TR era has there SS,SA,Army and Luft daggers but I do not remember any
thing really linked to say WW1 other than those mentioned above.

    Thanks,
    Greg

    Greg,
How about the IOD (Infanterie Offizier Degen)? There were many types of trench and dress daggers and bayonets. There was the series of 1889 cavalry combat swords and a host of other special cavalry swords. There were Train and artillery pattern swords. There were naval daggers, a Freiwilliges Automobil- Corps dagger and on and on.

Yes, the '89 IOD is a good typical Imperial sword, and there are many variations with that same distinctive pistol grip, de-luxe embossed models etc. The rare colonial sword is an identical shape , but with the colonial eagle on the handguard. The standard '89 is still a reasonable price too.
