    Hi David,

The only thing that I can come up with is a Lt. von Bergh assigned to the 1st Garde Regiment zu Fuß in the 1837 Prussian rank list. May be your man, maybe not. Good luck on your quest.

    Best wishes,

    Wild Card

      Alfred Freiherr von Bergh

      David,

Oberst (31.5.59) Alfred Freiherr von Bergh: 22 Aug 1808 in Berlin - 13 Aug 1860 in Berlin was the Chief of Staff of the Garde-Korps from 10 December 1857 until his death. As Wild Card has mentioned he was originally a 1. G.R.z.F officer having been commissioned into that regiment on 13.12.1827.

He was the 2nd personal Adjutant to the Prinz von Preußen from 14 Jan 1845 until 30 May 1848 when he became Adjutant of the Garde-Korps. In 1849 he served in Schleswig-Holstein and then on the staff of the Operations-Armee on the Rhine.

Promoted to Major on 10 Oct 1850 he became a battalion commander in the Garde-Reserve-Füslier (Landwehr) Regiment and promoted to Oberstlieutenant on the 15 Oct 1855.

      Regards
      Glenn

            Hi Andy!!

Thanks for the details, I am sure the Ordenshandbuch 1908/1909 will have the few I dont know for sure mentioned.

This CHW2bmSchw.a.R. ofcourse is what I was looking for the details on this officer, as I am trying to put down some sort of database/orderbook on the kurhessian orders

Iron Helmet (which I already have the names of, now just looking for additional biographical info on officers who served in the 1814-1815 campaigns)

House Order of the Golden Lion (not only militairy, but civil too)

OPVM (the kurhessian equivalent to the PLM), of which I already have all the names and some of the non-kurhessian officers

Wilhelmsorden (of which I have the numbers of times for each class awarded, but just finding some details here and there on the people who got it)

This all primarily as background info to my request, however if you run into an awarded person, don't hesitate to contact me please, I would be sooooo happy
