    Franko,
That is $130 well spent any day of the week. As for the Verdun bar, it does not belong there. The Verdun bar does appear to be original, but is most likely a bar for one of the many veterans medals that proliferated in the 20's. The 20's was a kind of anything goes period and you will see all kinds of variations of bars on wrong medals, medals in the wrong order, etc. Since the entire Medal Bar was made post 1934 ( per the presence of the Honor Cross) and regulations were tightened up during that period, it is my opinion that it was probably added by the seller. Sometimes a seller will do this to create a so called rare variation etc. to try to get more money for an item. Since you have the item only you can tell if the bar appears to have been there for 60 years. The fact that it is not centered properly on the medal ribbon would lead me to believe that it is a recent addition. Only you can make the decision whether to remove it or leave it.

      Hello Franko,

better leave it like it is. Some Veterans just wore all kinds of clasps sometimes on their EK. I have seen that on other bars, no problem.

      best regards,
      Gerd

really nice one and done during the whole last century!

i have a medalbar from a soldier wearing during the weimar period his inofficial clasps and removed them after 1933 (proven by pictures - was also from württemberg)

so for me, there wouldn't be any kind of problem regarding to the clasp on the medalbar.

It is a clasp for the Kyffhäuser Medal. If you know what happened at Verdun, you would leave the bar where it is...

Thanks for all the answer. I did make a black light test on the little cloth behind the bar and it did not glow, so its was probably a pre-45 bar.
I have no plan to remove the clasp since I am too scary to destruct the ek ribbon. Its give to this bar some charm anyway . Also its my first :P

Based on the amateurish way the bar is added, I would suggest that the veteran did it. If that is the case, I think it legimately belongs there. Besides, it looks great.

I imagine the veteran added it to the bar on his EKII because that is where it was most likely earned, and he was proud of that.

I am sorry to bump that thread, but I didn't wanted to make another thread for nothing.
I want to sell that bar already to finance another project and I was planning to sell it on e-stand, but I just wanted to know what would be the real price of that piece since I got it on a lucky price? I am 100% sure this is a pre-45 bar.
                  Thanks in advance guy
