          Erickn,
That looks like a nice original, it has the original type script engraving (which matches period handwriting), has tarnish in the engraved letters and is to a nobody (please forgive I will explain) Leutnant d. R in the infantry. Most fakes do not use period engraving (often squared off lettering or laser engraved) and they are usually engraved to a high ranking officer, blue max winning pilot and such. There is one on ebay now, engraved to a Jasta 56 pilot that is totally a laser engraved fake. I have a couple ID'd pieces, but my only engraved is a nicely scratch engraved "S-W" with "26.7.17" on it. I got it with an unamed Imperial Naval officers grouping out of Germany. When I can find a REAL engraved one in my price range, I will buy it. It just hasn't happened yet.

            Erick,
Thanks for sharing those great EKs. IMO they all look to be period engraved and they are just plain NICE!

I think it should say Enger.
