    EK1 - Screwback - Bit Different

    Any comments on this EK1 setup.

    I've never seen one like it before.

    Being sold as a 1914 EK1 screwback by Meybauer.

    Sorry about the small photos - all that are available.

    Thanking in advance ...

        Looks nice although the pics are a little small.
        I have a KO marked one with a similar system on the back.

          hagwalther,
          These are definitely original and of the period. This type is one of the highest quality screwbacks out there and are very much sought after. I have never seen the KO version before. Is it possible it is an issue pinback converted by Paul Meybauer? I have seen the Meybauer marked example for sale recently in the $500 to $650 range.

            A great find mate.

            I picked this one up very recently entirely by good fortune - it came attatched to a III Reich tunic... definitely a scarce find and 100% good.

            Interestingly (or not ) the DRGM screw device that innevitably comes with these was perhaps not the smartest choice of attatchment available... the finger grip bar on most - as you'll see in all the examples posted here - has to be bent to avoid the screwpost protrusion.

              Great cross. I love that style. Here's mine marked PM on the attaching nut.

                  Nice Chris

                  'PM' = Paul Meybauer?

                  Surely it is - the 'PM' mark is a first for me though.

                    Very nice cross and not that easy find.
                    Here is another one.

                      Marshall, I always thought the PM was for Paul Meybauer even though the cross doesn't have the Meybauer crest. It's the only one I have seen also, but as we can tell by this tread there are a lot of variants of this style cross.
