    Strange Cased EK 2

Purchased this one recently and wanted to know what you guys think. I am not versed in WW1 militaria and I got this one just to complete a set for a WW 2 L spange.

It looks like a typical private purchase case. I don't see anything unusual about it.

      Hello,
I have never seen such a box for an EK2 before yet.
I am sorry, but a have some doubts regarding its originality. Especially the velvet surface perplex me.

I would appreciate if you could both add more to the discussion. I feel torn between one way or another from the start on this one, even though as I stated before, I am not knowledgable on the Imperial stuff.

i have zero problems with this case.

i have seen this style of covering on a number of
occasions and have a green and red one myself.

i suspect they are post 1918, but certainly
period pre-1933. i would also think that they
were on the higher end of the private purchase scale.

the only negative comment i have is that the
color of your case would clash with my decor....

          regards,
          joe
