    Reinvigorated Medal Bar

This bar came in a lot of medals I bought. No medals and the scales were mounted upside down. Thanks to group members this was pointed out and I have now been able to find the correct medals as well as correct the ribbon orientation.

How are the medals affixed to the bar? Are there suspension hooks on the back or did the awards have to be sewn on?

This bar on eBay could also use the same kind of corrective surgery:

I think it has just been photographed upside-down.

Here are the pics from the auction. Please don't post active auction links. When the auction is done the link will eventually become useless as will the thread here.

Just a very basic metal bar with ribbon scales that had been mounted upside down. So easy to change to scales round. Not uncommon medals to replace those that were missing.

Yes... you're right about it being photographed upside down. By corrective sugery, I was actually talking about having to unhook the medal and flip it around. If the bar were to be flipped right-side-up without this change, the obverse side of the medal would actually be facing backwards. The royal cypher of Friedrich August is supposed to be facing the front and the side that reads "Friedrich August Medaille" should be facing the rear.
