The lower arm right side shows what appears evidence that this had a top half at one time. Is it just the pic or do you see straight trace wear on the edges that might give evidence to this being a core and a frame backing? Steve

Hi Steve, I have looked under an eye glass and it seems to be a ' tide
mark ' of old solder that has bled from under the iron centre. The three broken pieces have been quite haphazardly soldered on .Base and pin seems to be some sort of nickel silver. Its been in my ' what is it ' box for many years ! Ferg1.
