I was thinking that it should be called:

Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross 1870 to be ... errrmm... politically correct?

It's a copy of a 1870 Grand Cross. Nothing else. Note the four acorns on the oakleaf sprig on the reverse. The '39 style KC ribbon loop may suggest a Third Reich era display copy.

a copy sold as a copy. I would guess a one piece thing?

Yes. The seller does evidently not speak any English and used a rather poor translation software package...at least, he did try to describe it as a copy and sell it as a copy....Cheers, Torsten.

It' a one piece copy. Poor details on the crown. Rippling onr the flat surface of the core, and the turned in edges typical of soft metal castings.
