A commemorative badge (cap badge?), which I think would have been issued by a specific army unit...any idea what unit that was? My guess is, that it was austro-hungarian...but that is only a guess???...thank you very much in advance for you help. Cheers, Torsten.

I have seen this pin many times before. In my estimation it was a badge to mark the battle and thus could be worn by any of the particpating units, which were many. There are other pins which mention the battle and are unit specific, but they have the unit name worked into the design.
