c1915 Gorlice oakleave -- What Unit???

A commemorative badge (cap badge?), which I think would have been issued by a specific army unit...any idea what unit that was? My guess is, that it was austro-hungarian...but that is only a guess???...thank you very much in advance for you help. Cheers, Torsten.

    Torsten,

Definitely A-H. The 2.V. is the day and month of 1915 and might commemorate a victory.

It is date of a Gorlice battle, afaik also called the "little Verdun". More information (in english) can be found here http://www.firstworldwar.com/source/...e_krobatin.htm

        Thanks, Marcin.

Thank you. Has anyone seen this type of oakleave badge before and would anyone know if it was issued by a particular army unit? Cheers, Torsten.

            torsten,

I have seen this pin many times before. In my estimation it was a badge to mark the battle and thus could be worn by any of the particpating units, which were many. There are other pins which mention the battle and are unit specific, but they have the unit name worked into the design.
