    Thanks George.

    Interestingly, no crown/moon/800.

George, the Geissler piece obverse matches ours on a pebble for pebble look.

Can anyone provide the institution date for this award? (I'm separated from my reference library at the moment.... )

                  Daniel..

Are you able to post a clearer shot of the reverse of yours so I can see the maker mark?

If not, can you confirm (or deny) that it is an EXACT match for this mark?

                  Thanks

                    Biro,
Here is the best I can do, my scanner hates the backs if any depth is involved. However the marking is identical.

Indeed, that's a first one for me too.

One question I have on these bars is, if the examples we're seeing are not real ones, where are the real ones? Has anybody ever seen an alternative version that would be a serious competitor for the presented pieces?

There you go being reasonable again and this time in a different forum. What's with that?

                                Blitz,
From what I can see of it, it looks like a good Wagner piece. The devil is in the details (and the backer) though. If you have this in your hands, can you tell us what kind of backer it has (I assume it is pins) and if there is a mm.? A closer scan of the bar itself would also help.
