Merit Cross for Women

I've always loved these, but as I never considered them a member of the EK family I never really pursued them -- until recently. I had been kind of looking around at various sources for one when I got a message out of the blue that this example was available. So, I took the plunge! It arrived today -- and what a beauty it is! (If it looks familiar, it should; it's the same cross that's in The Iron Time.)

truly, in my estimation, one of the premier
Imperial pieces. it is:
-beautiful!
-simple, and elegantly so
-moving, in that it recognizes those
who cared for wounded so lovingly
-and unique. who but the queen could have
promoted and executed an effort like this?

i have always considered this to be a member of
the EK family. perhaps an adopted child, but certainly
every bit the stuff of honoring that the EK was.

I had an opportunity to buy this very cross but passed on her since I already have one, and I love her. That said, this is a stunning and significant award! Cherish her always because she is beautiful. Alas, my girl would have been jealous had I split my adoration...

Ashley, I can't say that these haven't been copied, but I've never seen a repro of this award. I can say that if they copied them to "near perfection" they'd have to do a damn thorough job!

I have seen a copy posted on German ebay about 6 months ago. BUT you could definately tell it was a copy. The workmanship was nowhere near that of an original.
