Can anyone tell me what the medal on the right is? Is it rare or common?

Not so much rare as uncommon. It is Bulgarian-the medal for merit -awarded for wartime merit(on this ribbon) and sometimes bravery. Awarded to NCOs-this is the silver grade, there was also a bronze and crowned classes.

I really love those unit marked regimental medals. They add some nice history to a bar that otherwise would not tell much of a story. Nice!

By the way, I am looking for one of those Bulgarian valor medals (1915 cross and swords, like this one on your bar) on the tri-fold ribbon, if you happen to see one.

The ribbon is that of the Military Order "For Bravery". Like the ribbon of the Prussian Iron Cross and that of the Austrian Bravery Medal, this was used as the "war ribbon" for a number of different Bulgarian decorations. In this case, it is the Soldier's Cross for Bravery, the enlisted version of the Military Order "For Bravery". There's a thread somewhere, either here or in international, that shows all the different varieties.
