    Hi Torsten,

It seems to roughly translate as Honourary Field Keeper/Guardian of the Municipalities of Rhiens and Capellen. Maybe hunting/poaching associated? Could be gardening for all I know!

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

If you PM/contact me without the courtesy of using your first name, please don't be offended if I politely ignore you!

Hi Mike, yes it does roughly translate to that...I kind of seem to remember that in the mid 19th century Voluntary Rural Gendarmerie (Police) were called Feldhueter??..but maybe not...? Still lets see, if anyone out there has ever come across this actual job title and knows its exact meaning. Cheers, Torsten.

Hi Bootmanager, thank you very much...so this kind of confirms what I thought...that they are a type of rural police, used to mitigate on border disputes and the like... Cheers, Torsten.
