Unknown document: Silberne Karl-Friedrich Verdienstmedaille

Dear all,

I found this document among some other papers: it is apperently for the 'Silberne Verdienstmedaille am Bande der Militärischen Karl-Friedrich-Verdienstmedaille' and was handed out in March 1918. Of interest - I think - is that was given to a driver (!) in a 'Fernsprech (= Radio) Abteilung'.

I do not collect 1st WW and therefore would be willing to trade it for WWII items (or sell it), however, I really have no idea what its worth....Can somebody help me before I put it on the E-stand?

Being a fairly common award I would say "less than an EK2" document for ww1.

it is something like the "iron cross of Baden"... common award but nice unit, I would say 30 Euro,but ask Sascha, he is the Baden expert

Do you mean me? If so, thanks a lot ...

The medal was awarded about 170'000, much more than any other Baden decoration. It was awarded to most of Baden WWI Soldiers (not to all, but to many ...).
What it's worth?
Probably less than a IC doc, I paid only 8,- € for my last one ...
