    Rudolf von Freydorf

Could anyone help me with "Rudolf von Freydorf", please?
He was a commander in WWI and died in 1940.

    Which awards held he?

Has anyone a picture of him?

    Hello,

I find a Hauptmann v. Freydorf in 1914 in the 1. Badisches Leib-Grenadier-Regiment Nr. 109. He held a Red Eagle 4th class, Johanniter, Zähringer Lion w/o swords and BMV4 w/o swords.
He got the Saxon Albert Order 1stX on 12.5.1915, and his HHOX was gazetted on 27.6.1918, both as Major.

    Regards
    Chris

      Thanks a lot, Chris.
Is the Zähringer Lion 3rd class a knight's cross 1. class?

Did he get any other decorations?

              Sure? A Hauptmann with a knight's cross 2nd Class?

              I thought 3rd class was the knight's cross 1nd Class ...

It is a 2nd class; he must have got it as a Leutnant/Oblt. Sorry for my confusing remark about the 3rd class, it reads BZ3b, which means Knight's Cross 2nd class. 1st cl would be BZ3a.

Wait, there's more! This guy was really well decorated:
His Zähringen was upgraded to Knight's Cross 1st with swords on 6.10.1914. And finally, he got the Baden Karl-Friedrich Order, Knight's Cross, on 11.5.1918 as Kdr LandwInfReg 11.
