It's a good "KO," IMO, but the rim stampings look a bit carelessly done.

not often that one sees the moon/crown
(or crown/moon) 800 anywhere on an EK,
let alone on the frame. this is a most
            unusual group of maker marks!

given the huge number of stamps, and
the wide variation in the execution of those
stamps, the fact that you can even read
the maker marks makes it enjoyable.

some of them could cause eye disease!

                ralph-

                i love this cross!
i collect 1914 ek 2's by MM variation,
and would be happy to trade or buy
                this bad boy!

did you find it at a show?
                nice pick-up!

For what it's worth. This is the second such moon and crown stamp that I have seen this week. The other one that was identical was on an unmarked EKI with 835 instead of 800 silver content.

                  Just a thought.

This cross has many of the same characteristics of the new crop of fake EK1's marked with eagel/over/M and KAG. The W and 1914 on the core is very shallow and off center, similar to the fake KAG's. Wimpy letters as if cheaply cast and an overall "melted" look. Cheap looking enamel, chipped in a couple places. On the other hand, the crowns look pretty good. I hope I'm wrong but I would be careful. ESPECIALLY if it's on eBay.

It's not an e-bay piece. It was a gift.

Core is loose. I could push it back to the center, if you like.

I do find that the W is "shallow."
