Medal-bar with Württemberg Golden Military Merit Medal (gilt)

Just got this one from Detlev. It needed some repair to the ribbon of the MMM. This is a Spangenstück in bronze gilt of the Golden Military Merit Medal of Württemberg, maybe made by Meybauer after the war. The awarded GMMM were always in real gold and with a die-maker. They are extremely rare with just 4234 awards.

Very interesting is the EKII on this medal-bar. It is NON-MAGNETIC with a brass core!!

Note the frosting to the frame of the EKII! Like the 1939 EKs.

The Golden MMM could only be awarded if an individual had the EKI. In the Württemberg order of precedence the golden medal was BEFORE the Knightscross 2. Cl with swords of the Friedrichsorden and every soldier with this medal got an honor-salary.

I really like medal bars and yours in very nice. No I did not try because I forgot to get up at 5:00 AM to look at the site! I really like Wurttemburg medal bars and yours is a great find! I have a friend who collects them and has a wonderful collection that I got to see first hand in Germany this year. Good Hunting! Mike

I've checked mine with a lens. It has a brass frame too!! Very rare and interesting, but why should someone make an EKII from three parts brass?? Strange...

My EkII is magnetic. Perhaps yours is a 1930's replacement? That's the only think I could think of regarding a brass base metal construction.
