Ian, I haven't seen such a complete group in decades! If you had his medals and commissions, you would literally "have it all."

It is a joy to see so much documentation-- especially photo IDs to put a face on the paperwork.

The Auszug aus der Kriegsrangliste is the Holy Grail for imperial officers' service records-- and the ONLY way to get such detail on a Prussian reserve officer. EVERYTHING is in there.

    Wonderful group! Rick

      Incidentally Rick!
I have his Patent to Leutnant and promotion to Hauptmann.......no medals though I am afraid!
There are 3 diaries that cover his PoW....too scribbly for me and not had the time to review (for the past 7 years!!!!).
Anyway here is a photo of some of the items...today I bought my first digital camera and am playing a bit...however I am very impressed with the beast so far!!! Wait till my wife gets in the bath!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just edited it to make things quite clear...I am not going to post images of my wife in the bath!!!!!!!! I will wait till she gets out!!!

      /Ian

        ooooooooooooooo

The only thing I have "more" of are 4 generations worth of often routine family documents (garden club memberships etc, 1850s draft exemption, endless "permission to get married" stuff) to the Horchler family, 1850s-1920s. Not a photo in the bunch, though. Military Judge (by coincidence) Advocate Horchler had an Order of the Zähringen Lion-Knight 1st with Swords for WW1-- will come up under search of his family name in here.

I didn't mention or show them but there are pre WWI documents to do with his training, a book he wrote on law!, four poster sized documents in latin!?!?!?
Between the wars relating to his work, post war also work related......also birth certificates, death certificate, babtism's for the whole family and tons of other none related correspondance......
His driving license, both military (no photo) and civil, pre war good conduct certificate (1905-7), WWI Soldbuch...but no Militärpaß!!!!!

          /Ian
