    PRUSSIAN BAR with a BOW

Dear Collectors: This is the newest purchase to my collection, for your viewing pleasure. First one I have owned with a Bow to the REO3C. I would appreciate any comments on to whom this bar may have belong to. All other comments welcome too.
    Sincerely, Bill

Dear Christian: Sorry to say but there's no name on the rim of the last medal. The only hallmarks are an "N" to the Red Eagle and a "G" to the Crown Order. Both are GOLD.
              Sincerely, Bill

Stunning medal and ribbon bar set It's the first time I've seen a bow on a medal bar.

                  Gents,
Am I correct that the bow is the intermediary between swords and oaks?
                  Thanks,
                  Marc

Magnificent condition, Bill! Congratulations on the addition...and a very nice Damenschliefe. Are the Red Eagle and Crown Orders in gold?

Basically, and this may be a bit of an oversimplifiaction, the bow on the Red Eagle 3rd Class indicates prior award of a 4th Class. Similarly, swords-on-ring on a higher class indicates prior award of a lower class with swords.

Bob, That is really nice. My quess is that it is a Maj. or LtCol. who retired before 1897 since no centenary medal. He is from a Hannover regiment. I don't think he was a higher grade or the RAO and PKO would have been higher. I think he retired between 1890-1895. I could check my ranklists but I need to center in a Hannover regiments. If someone could point me to the correct regiments I would be happy to look.

Dear Gentleman: Thanks for all the comments and the help as to whom this bar may have belong to. In answering a few questions, the Eagle and Crown are GOLD. If I am correct the BOW took the place of OAKLEAVES on the early Orders.
                            Sincerely, Bill

Dave is correct. The bow on a 3rd class simpley says the bearer held a 4th class RAO previously. If the 4th had sword then the swords on the 3rd were "on the ring"
