    Honved chaplain

I have bought about 700 press photos from 1st WW yesterday. They were found in an old closet in lower bavaria.
Here is one which I find very interesting:

Thought you would like that photo.

    Kind regards

Poignant photo. I think it is the first one that I have seen of an Austro-Hungarian military priest (if he indeed is a priest and not a lay person). I don't recall seeing singers at the graveside either. Thanks for showing it to us. What else did you get?

              Hi Chip,

he is definitely a military priest; note the three cuff rings as worn by a chaplain in the rank of captain - a Feldkurat.

              Regards
              Glenn

Here are a few more from the 700.
Most of the photos show towns, places, churches and live in the field.
And almost all are from K.u.K. troops, not much germans amongst them.

I picked out 3 other ones which are good quality:

As I am mainly interested in WW 2 portraits, these 1st WW press photos will make a good deal at german Ebay. I sell them each by each or in small groups.

Jeff - if You want the chaplain photo, send me a mail.

                  Kind regards
                  Robert
