Hello imperial gurus,
I did ask this in the last thread on anhalt crosses.
I would like to know ,were they diestruck?
Mine appears dietruck(quite obvious sheermarks on the inner edges of the arms and centre) with evidence of hand finishing on the outer edges of the arms(looks like very ,very light file marks).
corners have been filed off as in ek finishing.
well defined irregullar patterned stipling on arms.
appears to be made of bronze as it has small green patches in areas.
all lettering and crown appear well struck
Measures 37.5mm horizontally,and 38mm vertically.
One thing i have found while i am actually typing is it appears to have a hallmark on the side of the jump ring,it is an incuse M or W.Looks like an M due to the fact the legs arent splayed.
If it is an M,the top of the M is pointing towards the centre of the jump ring.I hope i didnt confuse anyone.
also jump ring and suspension ring have hand finishing work evident.
does anyone know the maker?
And does this general description of the medal sound ok?
And of course the normal info reference fakes of these.
regards, keifer
