    Saxon Kriegsverdienstkreuz 1915

This is one of the rare WWI awards of the Saxon Kingdom. The Kriegsverdienstkreuz, instituted in 1915. About 10000 have been awarded of this nice and slim bronze cross. I got this one together with another award I post in the next thread from the selling of the last auction of Carsten Zeige. Every item they don't sell during the auctions you can buy later with a fee of 10%. Still very good prices! I got this one for 44 Euro:

Interesting, that they realized that this was a "Weltkrieg" in 1915. Very early...

Jens!!! What is that MADE out of-- it looks like dark Feldgrau finish! The only ones I have ever seen (there is an earlier thread in here-- but I do not have the knowedge or skill to combine this so all are together) have been very nice oxydized bronze, very like the material used in Brunswick Ernst August crosses.

Is yours "Kriegsmetall?" That would be a new variant!

        The usual suspect

Usual bronzy-toned one........... (cased, of course!)

Interesting medal. I must say that I have only seen them like Stogieman's cased piece. Not so much cased, but the bronze color. Could this be a late war medal? Mike
