    Kronen-Orden awarded numbers?

I'm looking for information regarding how many KOs were awarded. Just the basic classes 1-4 with and without swords is enough. I'm primarily looking for info on the second type numbers (1867-1918), but numbers for the first type(1861-1866) would be appreciated also. As if that isn't enough.. I'm looking for literature with fact information on RAO, KO and other Prussian Orders, so if someone knows of a book that you could recommend, I'd be most greatfull. Thank you for your time.

    BDOS e.V.

The German Medal Collector society (www.bdos.org) had a series about this published. Number of Red Eagle Order and Prussian Crown order in all classes and variations awarded over the total time period.

The magazine is called OMM (Orden Militaria Magazin).

You can buy those through German militaria dealers and maybe still through the BDOS.

I would be able to offer those at US $ 25.-/set plus postage.

william hamelman wrote a book in 1978 titled
"Of Red Eagles and Royal Crowns". this book
contains information on both the rote adler orden
and the kronenorden, including his translation of
the actual statutes for each of the awards.

if you are interested, i will see if he still has a copy
for sale. it was a limited publication run of 500. you
may know him from his wound badge book and as
translator the heinrich dohle book (~1942-43?)
            on third reich awards.

my best! bought anything new lately?
            happy birthday!
