Hi Eryk,

Sorry, but for me both are, at best, Frankenstein crosses. The core and top frame may be original from an EK2 but the reverses are imo new (and aged).

I agree with Mike on these two. I would suspect that both were made by the same creator.

Rear Plate - new but aged. And how about pins, hooks, hinges?
Added to the new rear frame?

When I said reverses I meant the ENTIRE reverses - hardware is imo new as well. Markings are trying to emulate S-W under-pin markings.

There were several dozen crosses on offer. A dozen or so of them were marked on the pin: S / 8 / B / b / K / R.
A few were marked We under the catch. Unfortunately, they were sold - and I am not competent to share their photos.
Looking at these two, my crosses do not see mechanical interference. Such as file / sandpaper. The vault of the frame is also fine. Since the front of the frame + core is added to the rear part - in my opinion such traces should be visible.

So then, is this a case of taking original EK2's and converting them to EK1's?

Back of frame - copy? Is it from ek1?
If components ek2 and ek1 were combined - then a perfectionist had to do it. The frames are perfectly matched!
What is important - I don't see any machine / tool interference. In my opinion - to make the frames fit perfectly - they should be sanded. And here the problem arises - because with the cross of my hands - I do not see such traces.
Which doesn't change the fact that I'm waiting for more suggestions / ideas.
And one more thing - because there were questions on PM. Crosses are not for sale.

Agreed, all frankenstein's made up of some original parts from EK2 and new back plates, etc.
