    1870 ek2

    Good day

At last I think I have found an 1870 cross that is a period award rather than a Jubilee or tailor version. The 7 has the broad stem but the core has a coating. So am I wrong?

    Many thanks

        Awards to a General

Imperial is not my forté, I'm hoping someone can help me identify the awards of this general. He was German and served in the Turkish army in WWI. I think I know that the neck decoration, star & sash are for the fellow the Order of Osmanieh.
The second photo is a closeup of his decorations later in the war with a new neck decoration.
        Any help would be appreciated!
        Thanks,
        Steve

          Hi James,

          A fine cross you found!

This very informative article talks briefly about how these cores were finished if you're interested in learning more.
