          There are four different Wagner EK I 1870:

          • two different iron cores
          • two different pin systems

          Both iron cores were made with each of the two different pin systems so that four different kinds of Wagner EK I 1870 exist.

          Slight deviations at the iron cores are usual. The pin system with the thin pin is from the first series of awards.
          Both pin systems are often found with replaced pins, because the EK were worn for many years sometimes for decades.
