Original pilot badge?

What do you think about this flight badge?
Is it a good one or should I put it in the bin?

Well you can put it in my bin if you like ! Looks like an original unmarked Juncker air gunner . Not sure if the gilt finish is from the period or not , looks kind of wrong to me . Maybe someone trying to sex it up a bit by gilding it and creating a marine air gunner ,if indeed this award existed . Controversy over whether this gilded version was officially an awarded badge . Certainly the box is not an original partner of the badge .

I’m not so keen on the finish but beside that it’s a nice badge for sure.
Finish looks modern, with no single trace of patina.

Agree with others. A nice unmarked Junker Gunner badge. Hard to tell when the finish was applied but it appears that the highlights are worn. As an aside I do not think condition (patina) of a badge should be used to verify originality. There are many badges that have no patina that are original.

Fair point Gary, some badges have just sat there wrapped up in a drawer unused, unissued and as ‘ mint ‘ as the day they were born !
