Who classified this badge as a fake?
The left one of course but why the big one?

I can remember this badge and also that it was not classified as fake.

I've checked my sources and I found the badge but not where it was discussed.
But I'm sure I saw the picture somewhere else. My memory is getting worse
Maybe the pictures where bad and therefor it was judged as fake, but from what I see on this pucture it looks good to me. The hinge might be replaced, possible the pin on the same time too.

I suppose the badge is solid.

The quality of the Prinzen is pretty lousy, and I've also seen the other one somewhere else, I remember the cypher.

Could all this deja-vu-material have been posted on the german Militaria Fundforum a while ago?
Regarding the badge here:
I always thought that I have to be careful if the center ray of the sun penetrates the entire eagle, so that the tip of the beam ist seen coming out of the birds feet...
(the only exceptions I´ve seen so far were hollow backplated pieces of an unknown manufacturer)
...but I like the badge shown here and wish (for Mark), somebody would correct me!

I totally agree with you, if this appears on a know version that usually not has this feature.
But beside this criteria there are no other characteristics that makes me concern on this badge judging this pictures. Therefor we have to consider that there are more variation of badges with this feature.
I didn't consider the engraving in my oppinion because it is not seen well on the posted pictures.

Feel free to write your thoughts. Maybe I overlooked something.
