This is a strange thing:
I bought this off eBay from "at-buben" a seller who is the topic of an angry thread here about fake hats
I had thought, naively I suppose, that I was relatively safe sticking to WWI Iron Crosses. This one is three-piece with a magnetic core (the seams are strikingly prominent), but it is asymmetrical on the vertical axis, the pin (though not the frame) is magnetic, it has a splotch of some kind of solder on the face, sharp edges all around, and is somewhat crudely shaped. Also it smells a bit like a machine shop.
He is selling two more that have the same style pin/clasp (and remarkably similar patina), though both others are stamped L/13
I initiated a return, but, was wondering if any of you had thoughts
