Haben Sie dann keine schönen Traumstücke selbst glücklich zu Hause verschleppt? Oder vielleicht würde es besser zu sagen, "gerettet aus dem Wracke der Siebentritt-Sammlung?"

        Christian,

Did you bid and win a particular item? Can you tell us more about the prices the biggest/longest "Grossenordenspange" were sold for, like for example General Lequis medal bar?

I am so curious... I bid on several items, but I don't think I will get many of them, maybe nothing! It's almost like a lottery, with the difference if you win you have to pay and pay dearly...

        Ciao,

        Claudio

          I get ready......

          Here I'm back from Sugenheim,

          wounded in my money.

I sit at the gate of the castle with a hat in front of my knees, hope to earn some bars from the rich, elder guys......

Noone has compassion with me and I have to go into the auctionroom....to look what happened there.

There were many yellow cards with numbers on it in the air - I can't see Mr. Kube. So I hold my card in the air, too.

When I went, they want money from me????? I don't understand and now I have no money but two bars - what shall I do with them?????? Any idea????? One on them is called "Looff" and one has a SAMOA bar on it.......YUCHHHUUUUUUUUUUU

The war is over - and the children of Mr. Siebentritt are the winner......

          Best regards from germany

          Werner

            Werner,

Meine Glückwünsche, obwohl ich ziemlich traurig bin. Ich wollte nämlich auch die Ordenspange von Vize-Admiral Looff erwerben. Wieviel war der Endpreis dieser Spange?

            mit besten Sammlergrüssen,

            Claudio Ortelli

Must have been a nice event. I could only bid by mail.
I have to wait what my offers have made.

How went the prices in generally?

                Best regards

                Daniel

The prices were very different - some pieces cost 300% of the start-price, some were sold by the start-price (sometimes you can got a "Schnäppchen" - a document for the bavarian MVO 4.class with crown and swords in southwest for 180,- EUR - I must sleep in this moment) und some pieces are unsold. There were too much interesting items.
Kirsten ca. 7000-7500,- EUR, Lequis, Wangenheim, too Dürr 4800,-. The Plm with oakleaves 17500,- EUR

It is very bad, that many complete group now were in different collections - I will cry about thismoremad moremad

                  The Looff-bar I won against a german dealer - 3300,- EUR.

                    High end prices

                    Werner,

Thank you for your brief report on Kube's auction.

Considering the incredible prices that some items were sold, I feel good with my conscience. With those prices I couldn't compete and if I didn't get anything I can live with that. I guess that many people got caught in the "heat of the battle" during the action, because only so I can explain these incredibly high prices. Some of the prices you told me don't make any sense. You almost have to be millionaire to afford some items soon... That's too bad for normal collector mortals like me.

Good for me that I got some items from Zeige's auction which offered some really nice imperial orders and medals. ...And I thought that I spent a lot on some stuff on that auction; comparing Kube's prices it is almost peanuts...

What about the 2nd and less "glamorous" auction of Kube (99th)? Did it well like Siebentritt items' auction? I can imagine that many people got so frustrated that maybe I got some interesting items from this 2nd part of the auction. Let's pray to the saint protector of the militaria collectors that I got at least one or two items of the 27 (twenty-seven) I tried to bid on!

                    Ciao,

                    Claudio

P.S. Please notice that I never tried to overbid, so also if I bid on many items I don't feel guilty to have contributed to increase the final prices.

                      Hi Claudio,

I'm not rich and not poor and I have bought most of my bars in former times, when they are cheaper than today . Now I look for rare and very interesting pieces like the bar of Looff.

There were only 13 persons who got the crownorder 4. class on the live-saving-medal and the bar Ostasien 1900/01 ist rare, too.

I had no more money, so I leave Sugenheim before the second auction has been started, because I hope with you for your bids.

Nice to hear from you, what you get.

                      Werner

Werner-- have you seen the scan (I don't know if these are still on his website) that Andreas Schulze-Ising had of the Looff medal bar and a photo of him in KRIEGSMARINE (!!) Admiral's uniform WEARING IT?

I wonder where that original photo is-- because it belongs with YOUR medal bar, now!

                          one father of bar-collector's

                          Hi Rick,

I know Andreas since many years and also some bars of the Siebentritt collection - if you know the Efler's BDOS-book of the Boxeraufstand??? He did many fotos of the bars. I saw also fotos from the Seymour-collection a few years ago and found them in old auction-cataloges - he admired bars already in the sixties.

                          Werner
