Hi ,
I looked in the International forum first but this one seems more appropriate here: please move it to the appropriate forum if i missed the boat...
I collect TR including Weimar & foreign awards worn during the period preferably as single mounts if I can find them and I recently came across this nice boxed Austrian Kriegserinnerungs-Medaille with swords and matching mini. Upon closer exam I noticed the mini in this set as well as a lot of the full size medal seen on long period bars had the wide medal ring (like on the Hindenburg cross) while my full size medal has a thin medal ring. I have attached pictures of the set below.
Assuming the medal continued to b produced & worn after WW2 is the thin ring version of this medal an accepted/known period variation or is it indicative of my medal being a postwar product?
Thanks for the help
JC
