Help with Silesian Eagles Please

May I please ask for your views on these awards?
I know absolutely nothing about them and want to confirm if they are legitimate Weimar-era examples.

Also is the pin-back 1st class and the one with the ribbon 2nd class?

I'm sorry to tell you. But, they are both modern reproductions. They are known as "double eyes", in that they have a double line on the left side of the eye. This and the hardware used and the fact that they appear to be acrylic enamel are all contributing factors.

Could you show a close up of the 1st class especially around the eye? The 2nd class is definitely fake. But, while I have strong doubts about the 1st class, I'd know for sure with clearer pictures of the head and eye area.

Hi Roy,

I agree with Brian: the 2nd class is definitely bad and even though the enamel looks better on the 1st class the eye is "fuzzy" so its hard to say. Attached are 2 original Second class for the same design as yours. The enamel is even/flush with the cloisonné, the eye is different ( more evident on the single mount but just a dot in both cases) and the medal ring is also very different
No back picts I could locate but the devices (crescent/bandeau) are attached with folded clips or rivets on mine but I know some have no rivets

Hi Roy,

Sorry but IMO the first class has the same type of "double eye" as the second class you posted. Furthrmore the close-up makes the uneven "enamel" a lot more evident than than it was on your original picture. I would pass...
