    New v. Epp badge

Story I got was from a nephew of a veteran who knew a guy that knew a few more people, in the know. An early version of the v. Epp badge stamped from an artillery shell with the butt of his pistol. Born of hell fire, blood and shrapnel.

    Thoughts?

Nice badge ... but no way it was staped in an artillery shell with a pistol butt :-)

I never heard that story before. It reminds of a sleeve shield, often attributed as a variation v. Epp that was actually a sleeve badge worn by the French Foreign Legion.

Chris - sure you can, I saw it in a comic book once!

I was having some fun with this badge, I thought it was a really bad copy... like the crummy Eiserne Division medal fakes on ebay.. but a connection to French Foreign Legion is intriguing. Brian is there any documentation about this?

P.S. As for the badge, it was discussed before, check old threads!
