    Freikorps Oberland--need help!

    Hi guys,
I need collective forum help for one research. If any of you have Oberland-Bewährungsabzeichen in your collection, or just pictures of it in database--please PM me if it has a number on reverse (if yes, which one?) and is this number stamped or engraved? Your help is much appreciated

    Best!

    Hi Serge

The only one I have for reference is this one. It's a little out of focus. But, the number (1328) appears to be stamped. But, I've seen them unmarked and with no serial number and also with Deschler maker marks. I believe there were a couple of makers of this badge because there are variations in the Edelweiss and the look of the enamel. I believe it was also re-issued for wear by the Oberlandbund E.V. sometime in the 50s or early 60s.
The enamel on contemporary ones that I've seen seem to be slightly domed and of a medium blue. The one you show is of a lighter blue enamel and appears to be completely flat. This could just be a different manufacturer.

I used to own one 20 years ago and it was like the one I'm showing and the number was definitely stamped, not engraved. But, I think they came both ways.

      Hi Brian,
Thanx for your post, this badge I have in my database already.
Yup, the one I posted as example picture is made by L.Lerch for Bund Oberland after WW2.
When I will finish this small research I think I will make a thread about these badges and their varieties.
Guys, keep them posted! I can't believe nobody has any of these in collection.

I don't think these are all that common, even the post-45 ones.
